I AM NOT FLEXIBLE, CAN I DO YOGA?
Yes! Everyone is going through the same experience whether you can or cannot touch your toes. Yoga is about feeling the progression in your better over time. You will not be the only one who can not touch your toes. Promise!
WHAT IF I STUMBLE?
It is okay to stumble and feel off balanced in poses. The poses never truly become perfected in anyway. Most of the time everyone in a yoga class is focusing on themselves that they won't even notice other stumble.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO YOGA?
Comfortable clothes but think about poses like downdog. You may want clothes to be a bit more form fitting. If you tend to sweat you may want to wear breathable clothing, so sweat can dry.
WHAT IF I CAN NOT DO THE POSE?
It is ok if you can not do a pose that is presented in class. Or you may be able to do a pose but do not feel like doing it that day. Most yoga classes will offer moderations and variations of poses. For every one yoga pose there is a way to make the pose easier and more challenging. It's up to you and your body to discover what feels best. Every gets to make that choice.
WHEN SHOULD I GET TO CLASS?
If you are new, come about 10 minutes early to sign up. Classes begin immediately at start time and will end as scheduled.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Yoga mat, towel, water, a friend
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO YOGA?
Everyday! While new to the practice of yoga, you will be sore. The best way to overcome soreness is more yoga. Start with a commitment of 2x week with practicing some poses at home. After some time you will become more familiar with the poses and will be able to learn yourself how often your body needs to move.
