Class Descriptions
Gentle Yoga
A gentle class teaches breath, spinal strengthening, whole body stretching, gentle toning, and balance . Each yoga pose will be held for several minutes, so that the body has time to find benefit in the the stretch and strengthening benefits of each pose. As the body relaxes circulation will increase, muscle tension may be relieved, and areas of the body can strengthen and stretch.
* Suitable for Seniors, expecting mothers, baby boomers, silent generation, and individuals who have challenges of daily aches and pains.
Beginners Yoga
This class teaches the fundamentals and alignment of poses. Offered at a slower pace these classes focus on the basics of yoga, breath-work & movement. You don’t need to be able to touch your toes or be flexible; you just have to be willing to try! Advanced students are also encouraged to come.
Active Yoga
Flow yoga is an all-levels class has movements that will be connected with breath work. These classes have been designed to build natural body heat, so they tend to move a bit faster. Including being able to move up and down from the floor. Modifications can be given, less challenging poses or if you are new to the Flow Yoga class. The end of class is followed by a guided savasana (resting pose) and seated meditation, so that you can relax the body, feel the breath, and clear the mind. Suggestions for class are invited.
Senior Fitness, Advanced Cross Training, and Tone & Tighten classes are available at Second Chance Fitness.
