I hate Allergies! It took me awhile to get preventive measures into habit but once I did I feel so much better. Every second spent it worth so much. With my seasonal allergies my asthma flared, my energy level could not keep me going, but then I couldn't sleep at night. It was exhausting. I found 3 helpful techniques to get me through allergy season.
1. Young Living Oils-At least once a day I would swipe Lavender on my nose brim, Peppermint on my temples, and Lemon Oil on the muscles of my neck. HUGE help with fighting allergies. I have not taken allergy medicine for over a year. 2. Washing my hair before I went to bed. I have thick curly hair and it is damaging if I wash my hair everyday. BUT with the allergy season it is a must. I started using Dr. Bronners Pure Castle Soap because it is cleansing but does not dehydrate my hair. The things (pores, pollens, etc.) you are allergic tend to cling themselves into your hair and then manage to make their way to your pillow case. Yuck! 3. Nasal Washes-again a must. As soon as you wake up in the morning BLOW YOUR NOSE. Especially, after a hot shower. Get everything out that tends to find a home in your nasal cavity. If you don not have time to take a hot shower than buy pre-made nasal wash or a buy saline powder packets for a netty pot. I prefer nasal washes where you do not have to tip your head to the side (such as the netty pot). |
